In the 21st YAG Wedding of the 21st Century, Gabby (Gabrielle) Swinny, a lifelong parishioner of St. Gertrude the Great (Ohio), married Joseph Vines from Omaha, Nebraska. The couple met at the 2022 YAG the year before, shortly after which Joseph packed up and moved to Ohio!
The bride wore her grandmother’s wedding dress, carefully preserved and altered only slightly. Her maternal grandparents, longtime SGG parishioners Nathalie and the late Joe Andreotta, were married in 1962!
Due to a groomsman’s unexpected illness, Joe and Gabby’s entire wedding party ended up being composed of fellow YAGers from Ohio and Wisconsin. The very tasteful reception was held in Helfta Hall at St. Gertrude’s – complete with the traditional twinkle lights from the YAG.
The couple will reside in Cincinnati.
