Dress Level Advisory

We’re up to 42 people as we tick down toward the registration deadline.  As you start thinking (or if you’re a gal, finish thinking) about what you’re going to wear, here are a few recommendations for the different days.  Don’t forget about the modesty requirements!

Friday Night

This is your “first impression,” so we’re encouraging people to dress up a little.  Go for “Sunday clothes” or something you’d wear to a fairly nice date.  Guys may want to wear a suit paired with a more casual shirt and skip the tie, but it’s not set in stone.  Gals may favor a dress – think of tonight as an “evening out with friends.”  Dress shoes recommended.

Saturday Morning & Afternoon

Go casual and comfortable for today – jeans or darker colored casual pants for guys, denim or other casual skirts/tops for gals.  Low-heeled sandals or walking shoes are a must – the steps inside the castle are just uneven enough that you’ll probably scuff up nicer shoes.  A sun hat would be a good idea; there is some shade at the castle but who knows how hot it’ll be?  (We do have suntan lotion if you forget yours, and it might be a good idea to bring an umbrella, just in case.)  Keep in mind that the castle, while probably cooler due to being next to a river and made of stone, is not air-conditioned.  We will be outside for most of the day.

You’ll probably want to bring a change of nicer/clean clothes for the evening, and ladies, bring out your swishy square-dancing skirts!  Keep in mind, though, that we’ll be sitting out at the bonfire once it gets dark, roasting s’mores.

Sunday

Plan on comfortable dress clothes that you can go bowling in.  Ladies, don’t forget socks to wear with the bowling shoes!  Suit and tie for gents.
